Jekyll and Hyde - extract analysis - notes

These are the notes I made, prior to writing the essay about this extract. It very quickly became clear to me that discussion of this extract would fall into three categories: dehumanisation, animalism and Poole’s reaction. This closely (unsurprisingly) mirrored the question which was about how Hyde is presented as ‘inhuman’ and ‘disturbing’. The essay is here.
